How I Live United
I have been involved with United Way in many volunteer roles for over 20 years – 14 of those in the Washington, D.C. area. Currently, I serve as Chair of the United Way of the National Capital Area’s (UWNCA) Campaign Cabinet and as member of the organization’s Board of Directors. As Campaign Chair, I am working with a team to build UWNCA’s brand, to make its public image match its reality. I am using the experience gained throughout my career to help guide that effort, and it is my voice that is heard in this year’s campaign ads. I travel to United Way rallies in all UWNCA’s jurisdictions – in Alexandria, Arlington, District of Columbia, Fairfax-Falls Church, Loudoun, Montgomery, Prince George’s, and Prince William counties.
I know that I have been blessed in my life, and I do not hesitate to say so. I grew up with the principle that, “To whom much is given, much is expected,” and I try hard to live up to the second part of that equation. That is the reason behind my commitment to working with and for United Way, and to making the best pledge I can.
This is how I LIVE UNITED.
