Hundreds of men and boys attended the Prince George's County Brotherhood Summit held at Bowie State University on Saturday, May 4. Co-hosted by United Way of the National Capital Area and Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks, this star-studded, special event featured Judge Greg Mathis; former NFL All-Pro Brian Westbrook; Kweisi Mfume, former Congressman, Maryland 7th District and NAACP President and CEO; as well as ABC7/WJLA-TV anchor Leon Harris.
Created to reduce youth violence in the Prince George’s County community, the Brotherhood Summit was open to boys, ages 13 to 18, and men interested in serving as mentors.
