Shining a Light on Child Wellness in Loudoun County
April 11,2012
United Way of the National Capital Area Campaign Manager Mary McFarland and Child Wellness Director Euniesha Davis were recently interviewed by Talk Loudoun, a widely read, local e-news publication, to discuss how United Way NCA is helping kids in Loudoun County get moving towards a healthier future with our Fun, Fly & Fit program.
Fun, Fly & Fit is an acclaimed, results-focused program that motivates children to play, exercise and have fun. Developed by United Way of the National Capital Area, Fun Fly & Fit has scored remarkable successes throughout Metropolitan Washington. It can easily be implemented as an in-school program or in after school sites.
The Talk Loudoun interview allowed us not only to draw attention to the problem of childhood obesity in Loudoun County, but also provided additional exposure and promotion for Fun Fly & Fit that will hopefully help us expand our impact in that community.

We had the privilege of having two children at Camp Fire, both adopted with special needs and identified as having serious learning and behavioral problems, participate in our program.
