Volunteer engagement:  Volunteers serve as financial coaches to help adult individuals tackle a pressing financial problem. Volunteers will provide a one-time, one-on-one 45 minute session to help clients examine their immediate financial situation, review client’s credit report, and help them create a course of action to address concerns. There is an opportunity to have ongoing counseling with the same client. Volunteer shifts: AM, PM, Saturdays; Pre-requisites for volunteers: 1) A financial background. Perfect for AFCPE seeking practicum hours! 2) Commit to 6-months and 3) Commit to 3 hour shifts (at least 2 times per month).

Volunteer engagement:  The main focus of the volunteer experience is the evacuation of a train in a tunnel. Volunteers involved in the train evacuation exercixe could be on the train up to 60 minutes due to de-energizing the 3rd rail power and begin the exercise. Volunteers without mobility concerns should expect to access the roadway and walk back to an area of safety under the direction of the fire department. Volunteers needed from 6:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. or 2:00 P.M. ***Safety training before the exercise.*** Staff will be available to confirm participation for volunteers who require it for certifications or program participation – just bring your form! All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver (will be sent closer to event date) in order to participate in the exercise.
