In 2011, United Way NCA embarked on an aggressive ad campaign to get our brand front and center during the CFC campaign. We chose a hero angle, evoking in the reader an image of themselves coming to the aid of his or her community. The visual impact of the campaign drew on the style of vintage poster illustrations to call out the celebration of the CFC’s 50th anniversary.
We created three concepts: a fairy godmother working a little magic; a super hero saving the day; and a knight in shining armor championing the cause of giving to the community.
In addition we ran numerous radio spots targeted to reach current and potential new donors.
Now, in 2012, we have our Heroes 2.0 campaign. In this campaign, we're highlighting the superpowers within each federal worker and letting them know they truly are Everyday Heroes to the nonprofits they support.
We're happy to report that as a federation, United Way NCA and our member nonprofits increased our revenues from the CFC by nearly $2 million in 2011.

For the past two years, United Way NCA has created easy to use templates to help your organization customize the powerful design of our print ad for your own promotion.
For the 2012 CFC we are once again offering you our highly valued creative (below).You can capitalize on the value and recognition of the United Way and CFC brand by employing this ad layout with your own brand mark and CFC code. This template can be utilized as a table sign for your organization in preparation for an agency fair or as a high-impact, eye-catching handout to donors. It is available as an InDesign file for those with design staff, or as an easy to modify word document (in both .DOC and .DOCX format) to make it simple for you to create your own promotional pieces and advertisements.
