Jeannie Boehne, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Jeannie Boehne, CPA brings over 20 years of accounting and financial expertise to the organization. She returns to United Way NCA as CFO. She previously held the title of Senior Director of Finance in 2007 before moving to Abu Dhabi, UAE. Throughout the 18 months in the UAE, she continued to provide high value financial and business consulting support to the United Way NCA.

Jeannie has specialized in some key business sectors, specifically, professional service firms, non-profits and transportation. Most recently, she was the VP of Finance for Powell Tate/Weber Shandwick, a public relations firm which is part of the global network of the Interpublic Group of Companies.

She describes herself as a "true blue, roll up your sleeves" type accountant. Her strengths include analyzing financial operations and implementing policies and procedures that fine tune efficiencies and create opportunities that enhance the bottom line.

Jeannie is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She also holds an MBA from Western Michigan University, BS Professional Accounting from Tampa College and a BS Business Administration from Aquinas College. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jeannie and her husband have resided in Northern Virginia since 2004. The most recent addition to the family is a Labradoodle named Roger. She is an active sports enthusiast which includes golf, scuba diving, boating and white water rafting.

Autism Society of Northern Virginia: De la Cruz Family Finds Hope through Connection

Kolette De la Cruz tells in her own words how the Autism Society of Northern Virginia helped her family find a ray of hope through connecting with a supportive community.

"I became a member of the Walk shortly after my son was diagnosed with autism. I have two lovely children, Logan (3) and Grace (19 months). My son, Logan was diagnosed with regressive autism at 21 months of age (meaning that he had normal development and then lost all language, communication and social skills). We as a family were devastated. We had just given birth to our daughter when we noticed our son had somehow slipped away from us."
