Renny Perdue

Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships & Leadership Giving

Renny Perdue came to United Way in September 2010 with fifteen years experience in non-profit federated fundraising, cause-related marketing, strategic planning and operations with EarthShare, and eighteen years of corporate foundation, marketing and sales experience with Mobil Corporation.

In her fifteen years with EarthShare as the Executive Vice President, Ms. Perdue worked with EarthShare's member environmental and conservation organizations and state affiliates to access new employee workplace giving campaigns at employers around the country; acquired cause-related marketing partnerships to benefit EarthShare; and sought grant funding. Before EarthShare, Ms. Perdue spent eighteen years with Mobil Corporation beginning as a marketing representative and ending with a position with the Mobil Foundation where she ran, among other duties, Mobil's United Way campaign. She represented Mobil on a United Way board and on United Way Worldwide's National Corporate Leadership Council.

Ms. Perdue has an MBA from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY and a BA in Chinese language studies from Connecticut College, New London, CT. She resides with her husband in Reston, VA.

Autism Society of Northern Virginia: De la Cruz Family Finds Hope through Connection

Kolette De la Cruz tells in her own words how the Autism Society of Northern Virginia helped her family find a ray of hope through connecting with a supportive community.

"I became a member of the Walk shortly after my son was diagnosed with autism. I have two lovely children, Logan (3) and Grace (19 months). My son, Logan was diagnosed with regressive autism at 21 months of age (meaning that he had normal development and then lost all language, communication and social skills). We as a family were devastated. We had just given birth to our daughter when we noticed our son had somehow slipped away from us."
