My name is Alan Banks and this is my story. Like many people experiencing homelessness, I had struggled with mental illness, with depression, all my life. But after spending four years in the Air Force and then having a successful career in the security field, I thought I had it all under control. I was wrong. But with my family's love and support, and the incredible services I received from Friendship Place, I have my life back.

But she could afford to send both boys for a week, and it would get them unplugged from their iPads for a while.
